problem in mobile not picking up the memory card

i have a sony ericsson xperia x10i and it is not picking up my 2gb sdcard but my fathers mobile picking up the same memory card so what can i do

try other memory cards in your phone...
its possible that the card slot has died which would require a motherboard replacement in the phone. (not worth the cost to fix in most cases)
