Problem reading display in bright daylight

Hi, I'm new to the forum ... I'm also new to the B5512 but think it's a great phone.

However, I have a problem: when I'm outdoors in bright daylight, I have difficulty reading the display - and that's a particular problem if I have made a phone call, then want to end the call. I can't see the "End call" button.
Is there a keyboard option (independent of lighting problem) with which I can end the call? There is also the _added_ difficulty that by the end of the call the screen has "gone to sleep", i.e. gone black ... which doesn't ease my problem.

Anyone?
Thanks

It's a problem with a lot of smart phones unfortunately. Most of my devices have issues in bright sunlight.

You can try setting the brightness to auto. When the light sensor detects you're in bright light, it should adjust the brightness of the screen accordingly.

Also, do you have an accessibility option in the settings? Is there an option to use the power button to end a call?

Sincere thanks for advice! The Accessibility tip did the trick; it has precisely the option you suggest: using the power key to end a call.

I see you're in Scotland - so am I (Perth), looking forward to saying Yes in September 2014 ... :)

Arrabest!

I'm a 3 hour trip up the A9 from you. Given what's outside my window, I can't imagine you'll have an issue with the screen and sunlight for much longer.

Glad you've a fix though. :)
