This is a bit of an obscure problem, and I wasn't sure which forum to post this in, so I hope it is OK on this one.
I have my HTC Desire set in a foreign language, partly because I'm a linguist and that's what I like, and partly as a deterrent to colleagues who a few years ago thought it would be a laugh to change the language settings on a previous phone!
When I perform a search on Google on my phone, I used to be sent to the foreign language version of Google, and the search results would include foreign language web sites. However a few weeks ago I noticed that Google had switched back to the English version. I have gone into the search settings and changed the interface language and the search result language, and the language changes seem to have been applied. But then if I come out of the browser and search again, Google defaults back to English. I have tried restarting the phone once I have changed the settings, but Google still refuses to save the changes.
Does anybody have any idea how I can resolve this?
