Problem using Link2SD (Internal memory still affected)

So I did everything needed so I can use Link2SD: rooted phone, accomplished memory card partitioning, granted Link2SD superuser status, moved apps to SD card, linked apps/dalvik/lib to memory card. Naturally, it worked, and I got quite a large space for my internal memory.

Now this issue of mine has only been happening for the past couple of days. Every time I would turn on the phone, the internal memory goes back from 50MB to around less than 10MB, thereby making apps crash here and there due to lack of space. I sometimes had to wait before Link2SD starts working, but it doesn't seem to happen now. The only way for me to solve the problem is to uninstall quite a lot of apps, then I try to reinstall them after everything is back in order, thinking the problem will be fixed. The internal memory does return to its 50MB state, but the same problem occurs when I restart the phone. The SD card even automatically unmounts in the process.

Does anyone know how I can solve the problem? Thanks in advance.

Care to elaborate? From what I've been reading , using Link2SD should give you more space for your internal memory, and that's what has been happening so far. The only problem is that the app doesn't seem to work when I restart or turn on the phone.

Sorry I'm still quite new to Android.

It's as jefboyardee said. Not everything can be moved to SD. No matter how you do it, some app system files still must be installed to internal memory for the app to function.

Link2SD works differently than most *2SD apps. It creates a shortcut on the internal memory and moves the entire rest of the app to the 2nd partition on the uSD.

Holocoz, I no longer use Link2SD but did write a tutorial for it (specifically for the LG Optimus V). I know it has been updated and has many new features from when I used it. But when I used it you needed to not move the app to SD before linking it.

Also try clearing your Dalvik-cache and cache from your recovery.

Thanks for your reply MacFett. :)

Reading your tutorial thread, I found out that the reason why my internal memory goes back to normal is that the library files aren't automatically relinked each time I reboot the phone. So I had to manually relink the library files from the Menu.

Thanks a lot. And I also thank jefboyardee and Crashdamage for their replies.

Glad it helped and don't forget to hit the thank button on helpful posts so others know they are worth reading.

Hi. I'm reviving this thread because I want to ask help regarding another one of my link2sd-related problems. Last time I replied here, I found out that the reason why link2sd is returning my internal memory to its usual state is because my lib files are not unlinked.

Now, I try to check the box next to Relink Lib Files after Boot, but alas, the lib files do not automatically link themselves each time I restart my phone. How can I solve this problem? Is this a bug within Link2SD, or just an error on my part?

So there's no way to fix it? My problem is that it takes a long time for me to relink everything. Each time I'd go to Link2SD it would force close due to the low internal memory. I had to rely on luck so that the app wouldn't crash whenever the loading icon appears after attempting to relink. Warning messages keep on popping here and there, apps are crashing, etc. I hope the developers would be able to make a solution for this.

It has been about a year since I've used Link2SD and details are a tad fuzzy. I got sick of the instability of the stock Optimus V and flashed a useful ROM. Shortly after that I realized most of the apps on my device were never used and I never bothered to reinstall them after the flash.

If Link2SD is crashing after a boot that could be what it isn't relinking by itself.

I had same problem. It helps if I activate "relink library..." in link2sd after reboot phone but sometimes its imposibel because link2sd crash, or phone start reboot again... So there is no solution for this problem? My phone is HTC Desire, stock 2.3, rooted, S-OFF

problem solved(for me)

*multi select option
*select all your apps affected by link2sd
*create link
*done

you can do other process the idea is relinking all lib files and caches..
