Problem with Gmail notifications

Today I woke up and discovered I was not getting email notifications on my Droid anymore. If I go to the Gmail app they are in there as unread but I'm not getting any kind of notification that I actually have new email unless I go in and manually check. Is anyone else having this problem or knows of a solution? This is getting to be an annoying problem. Thanks.

If your using the actual Gmail app then you can open it, click menu, more, settings, about half way down check "email notifications" and if it is you might wanna look in "select ringtone" just to make sure its not changed for some reason. Hopefully it's that simple

I checked that and all was fine, but then I got the notification saying you had replied to this thread so I guess things are OK now. Thanks though.
