Problem with language in sms

So, I got a Moto G (wich I got replaced for a new one because of a hardware issue), and as far as I can remember this problem was not on the old one.

the problem being when I'm writing a text message in my native language (portuguese PT-PT, not PT-BR (from brazil)) it won't show the automatic suggestions it does when I have english selected in the imput method.

I also tried PT-BR and it worked, but in brazil the vocabulary is quite a bit different from ours, so I really need it to be in PT-PT.

so that's my issue: when writing sms it won't show suggestions in my native language even when selected in the language imput.

thanks a bunch

I'm just using the standard leyboard that comes with kitkat. can't I do this without external apps? it shows the language, and the other languages work, so why doesn't this one work?

Ok I'll give it a try. The problem is Motorola decided to ditch a bunch of languages for some reason, I have my phone set to english because of this. thanks for the replies.

The stock AOSP keyboard with KitKat should support PT-PT i.e. Portugal. However Motorola could very well be doing their own things here. You can install the Google keyboard, that supports PT-PT,.

I would try the google keyboard, but in the play store it says it's not available in my country for some reason, therefore I can't download it
