Hello,
I recently got an S3 and was fussing around with an app called Fake GPS. As the name implies, it lets you move locations so it thinks your phone is somewhere else. Pretty cool, except that even after I turned it off and uninstalled it my phone still thinks I'm at a different location than I actually am. From what I have read up online in the past day it saved that location into the location cache, but I am not sure and I don't know how/if I can clear that.
Here is a list of the stuff I've tried so far:
1. I tried going to Setting>Application manager>All>Network Location and clearing both the cache and the data. Still didn't fix the problem.
2. Downloaded an app called GPS status that supposedly should have let me reset the cached GPS data and then download GPS assistance from the internet, but that didn't fix the problem.
3. Somewhere it was suggested that I go in and manually delete the cached files, but I would need a rooted phone to go it the way it was described on that forum. My phone is not rooted, but I looked around and downloaded DiskUsage and OI File Manager in order to get into those files. Problem is I can't find the files that were mentioned.
That's pretty much all I've been trying. I've seen it suggested somewhere that I should just leave the GPS and Wi-Fi location turned on and in a couple day it would fix itself. I can do that and hopefully it works.
And also I should mention that if I go to Settings>Location Services and turn off "Use Wireless Networks" then the problem goes away. The problem is that, obviously, I would like to use that if possible.
Thanks for any helpful tips you all can give me. And I apologize if this question has been asked before. I tried a search on the forum and nothing came up
