problems connecting with my pc!

hey guys, droid eris here. when i press mount, my pc can recognize my sd card as a usb drive but after about 2 minutes or so, my eris will disconnect by itself.

my eris used to connect and just prepare the sd card right away for disconnect (leaving me no time at all to transfer files), but since i formatted the sd card using the phone, it now will connect for a few minutes at a time.

does anyone else have this problem? is this a known issue? any help would be greatly appreciated!

Could also be the USB port itself. I have two ports that connect directly to the motherboard and they work fine with all USB devices. I have another four that connect via a PCI card in the back and they NEVER hold a connection with mobile phones for some reason.

hmmm, ok something went horribly wrong D:

before i could at least transfer a few files (usually songs) back and forth between my pc and eris but i just took some pictures ~15 minutes ago and i tried to drag and drop them from my mounted sd card to my desktop.

as soon as i try to move the files my phone unmounts. what could/does this mean??

You can update your drivers automatically in the device manager.

Try using different usb ports, like brykins said. Front or back ones.

so i tried a different usb port and i was able to get one photo out of my phone at a time before disconnect. cant say its much but it certainly is an improvement...

ive checked with driver genius and it says i have no out of date drivers so im kinda at a loss here. :(

well this is depressing...

i tried mounting my phone on another computer and it works. i can transfer files and all.

this is depressing cause now i know its a computer issue and since this isnt a tech forum, im gonna have to start rooting out the cause of my usb issues. crap
