Problems figuring out Artist for MP3s

I use the default HTC desire music application and up to now I just put mp3s in a media/music folder on my sd and it can figure out which ones should be together under ARTISTS and it will display them as artists in a list so i can select that artist say " Angels and Airwaves " and then it will show the albums, I can click that and it will show the songs

But today I put about 100 songs on my sd and it cant figure out the artists, so it has placed then under Unknown Artist and then you click that and it says Music for album. Is there a way to get it to recognize the artist?

Not sure, I have wireless on but dont know if the app has a manual option for that i have looked and found no option

Think i found the answer searching the net Music shows 'Unknown Artist' - Android Forums ( if link is not allowed admin please remove as Im not sure what the rules are for linking out to other sites )

Sounds like the id3 tags are incorrect, or a verson of id3 that the phone cant understand.

I have this same problem. I had to get a WMA-to-MP3 converter and enter all the track information to get it to show up properly in the player. I only did it for one album so far because it's a hassle. I'd rather wait for a real fix to the operating system.
