Problems, terribly disappointed

I have this phone for almost a year and you just can't understand how i am dissatisfied with this mobile phone and android os.
I have 2 very big problems that frustrate me and i can't deal with.

1.First is SOFTWARE UPDATE.
Even after factory reset my phone doesn't have option "check for software update" (or sth. similar) in general settings/about phone. All other phones of my friends, have this option.
I tried to update firmware via kies but it non-stop says: "not enough disk's free space" (minimum 3000 mb required)" even if i i did everything to fix it (according to online advices and help).

2.Second one is famous "Error downloading. There insufficient space on the device". I tried EVERYTHING that i found online. Cleared data and cash, uninstalled google play update and even cleared download manager (which just helped me for apps that are up to 25 mb big) but main problem (for bigger apps) stays unsolved.

And you just can't understand what amount of rage is in me all these months, but oh, especially now after factory reset that didn't help, but deleted all my data making me sending it to the bad phone again.
I have nothing to say anymore.

Hi lolandroidlol, and welcome to Android Forums. :)

I can't really answer your first question, I've never heard of that problem before. I may be able to assist you with your second though.

The Galaxy Mini, being a cheap and oldish phone (not that that's a bad thing, I still use mine) has a small amount of available memory. The only way around that is to make sure that all apps that can be moved to the SD card are moved to the SD card. This will then free up space on your phone's memory, so that you can install more apps. You could also use an app like App2SD to help you check this.

I found that this was still not enough, however, and if you still find you don't have enough space then I would personally recommend flashing a custom ROM onto your phone, as that free's up a lot of space, and all apps can be moved to the SD card.
