Help Problems with daydreaming

I turned daydream on but kept having problems unlocking the phone. I have had to shake it for the lock screen comes on, but that does not always work. I turned it off but that did not work, then I disabled it but still it keeps coming on, and always I have the same problem with opening it up.
Is restoring the factory settings the best way for me to get it back to the way it was or is there a better option?

The phone is only a week old

Are you the one and only owner of this device. Root means have you alter any factory files.

I think a factory reset would be the only way to fix this

May want yo check for update or return to seller daydream feature is a software problem
