Help Problems with Good and "Under the Hood"

davd68

Lurker
I'm seeing some strange behavior on my new LG G2... wondering if anyone else is seeing similar things. I'm on my 2nd handset (the 1st one had a bad screen)... it is working great with two exceptions.

1) My company uses Good for Enterprise... The Good works just fine until I reboot the handset. Every time I reboot, Good the application indicates it has "detected a rooted device" but I have not rooted my handset. I can then uninstall, reinstall, request a new activation code from my company and it works fine again... until I reboot.

This leads into my second issue

2) While working with the dev team at Good, they asked me to install "Under the Hood" from the Play Store. Under the Hood works OK but I'm only able to export the "first 10.26k" of data. The export/share and the export to SD behave the same way... for some reason the export is truncated at just over 10k. I've run this app on my old HTC DNA (4.1.1) and my Nexus 7 (4.3) and the application works fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Both apps seem more like they need updates rather than problems with the G2.

Could be issues with the Snapdragon 800, the screen size or dpi, or a myriad of other things. I'd contact the software companies to let them know of the issues.

Thanks for your reply. I contacted Good and they are looking at it...that is what sent me down the path of using "under the hood". I also dropped a note to the Under the Hood support mailbox... I haven't heard back from them yet... but I'll be sure to post here when I get any updates from either team.

Posting to close out this thread...

I worked with the Good developers to find root cause on this issue... apparently the root checker from VZW and the root checker from Good were conflicting and causing each other to believe the device was rooted. The Good team said they would push an OTA update next week, however, I got the Verizon update yesterday (VS98011A) and that fixed the issue. Good is working just fine now.
