Help problems with HTC M9 email

Hi,

Today i'm having issues with the HTC mail not working on my M9. It was functioning properly (accepting emails) until approx 10:00 GMT this morning but since then has not received any emails.

I use my Hotmail account through the app using Pop3 settings.

I've uninstalled the app, reinstalled it, changed my password via my Laptop, reset my phone but still I get the same message 'unable to proceed - Some of the information you entered is incorrect. Please review your settings & try again'. All information I have input is correct.

Please can someone help. Vodafone & HTC have been no help whatsoever today. Vodafone because its not their app & HTC because they're closed & support pages on the internet are down.

Thanks :)

Hi, welcome to Android Forums.

I have recently stopped using the HTC mail app because after the last couple of updates it has repeatedly locked up on me, it just refused to launch until I uninstalled/reinstalled. So I have transferred all my accounts to the Gmail app, a mix of POP and IMAP and they are working fine.

Although your problem appears to be different to mine you could try setting up your hotmail account in your Gmail app to see if it works ok, two of my transferred accounts are hotmail. The setup procedure is straightforward.

I have one remaining account in my HTC app which is an alias account for one of my hotmail accounts and I've just checked that and it's working ok at the moment.

Hi, thanks for the welcome & the advice. I've now done that, it is working but i dislike the gmail platform. I don't find it very user friendly & preferred HTC mail. I'll persevere with the gmail & see if I can get the hang of it. Thanks.

Thanks i might just do that. The thing I dislike about gmail is the lack of 'select all' option. I'm awful for leaving messages unread.

To select some or all mail items in any particular folder just tap the icon on the left side of each message then actions will be applied to all selected, 'send to bin', 'mark as read/unread' etc.

It doesn't work very well though. I've downloaded the Aqua Mail Pro on both my phone & tablet as it seems to be a good option & works well. As you say lots of options to choose from that aren't available on gmail.

Thanks for all the help. now I just need to figure out how to disable all the sync options on my phone & tablet so i'm not getting mulipule notifcations from gmail, Samsung email version & aqua mail.

Hold+Press the notification to get various choices for how they will be delivered (or not). Also, check "sync and backup" in settings - I personally don't like getting notifications for my gmail accounts (which are already forwarded to another account), so I just turned off sync for those entirely.
