problems with messege tone on htc hero

Hi Im new here.
But hope some of you can help.

Just got my new fresh HTC hero phone.

My problem is that I can change my ring tone but not my messege tone.
When I change it , it plays the sound, but when i recive a messege It plays the default tone

Anyone have the same problem

I too have this same problem, cant find anything to fix. Going to call sprint and see if they can help. Post back with any update.

I had the same problem until i figured out that there is a seperate sound for messages.
When in messages, hit MENU, then SETTINGS and scroll down to SELECT SOUND. As long as your files are saved on your SD card in \media\audio\notifications your sounds will appear in the list.
