Hello and welcome to Android Forums. Hopefully I can help you with your problem.
There is a good chance that your carrier may be having trouble in your area. I have this happen with my carrier from time to time.
Contact your carrier and let them know what is going on. They will let you know if they are experiencing any trouble in your area and walk you through the steps needed to solve your problem.
If it is carrier related, there is nothing I can do. The only option I have to offer is to go into the phone settings, look for applications, locate the messaging app and select the wipe data option. You will usually lose all your text messages doing this though.
One more thing and this only applies if your phone is rooted and you are trying to run different carrier ROMs on your phone Sprint/Boost, etc..... You may need to go in and manually set the proxies. I HIGHLY suggest joining this forum if this is the case.
