Profile updates late or not at all

I have a profile that performs a Say action when the phone is unlocked. For some reason, when I update the settings for the action, such as the words or pitch, the change doesn't become evident for a little while or not at all. Ideas?

EDIT: I think I figured out what to do. After updating the tasks, I have to hit the home button to minimize the Tasker screen, and then it will start doing the updated tasks.

Welcome to Android Forums.

What I do after making any change is to go up to the top level of the section, go to the options, and choose Exit. When prompted select Save First. This assures that the change is coordinated throughout all elements in Tasker.

There is apparently another way to do this that I never remember. The way I do it it always works.

It turns out if I hit the home button from the top level of a section it works too.

I seem to recall that sometimes it doesn't and the one I use always works. I do it for ANY change to anything.

(Yes I went through the period of "going nuts" because an update I thought was made was not totally made.)
