Project Emerald rumor update

Well, its rumor-mill time, LOL - T-Readyroc, you haven't posted on this topic in awhile so, I thought I'd chime in and get the ball rolling again. Here we go with the remix:

The HTC Vanguard (possibly what we have previously called The Vision) is said to be dropping in September. This may be it HTC Vision with Android, full QWERTY in the wild? -- Engadget.
The Emerald is due around November 5th according to the Tmo End of Year Tmo Road Map:

The Vanguard's screen is supposedly 3.7 while the Emerald is rumored to be 4.3! (salivating in anticipation, LOL).

I have been waiting for the HTC Desire since it was dubbed the Bravo/Passion and set to drop last April. That drop didn't happen.

However, HTC has been talking about dropping a Superphone our way. I'd say that Emerald has to be it. It definitely replaces the Desire as my dream phone. The Super-beast is said to sport these rumored specs:

Dual core processor
4.3 inch screen
Front-facing 8 mega-pixel camera
Android Gingerbread OS aka 3.0

Now of course rumors are running rampant. Some say that the beast will be the Vanguard. But the picture sports a 3.7 screen so, if the picture is true, the Vanguard cannot be the Beast. Yet, all of this remains to be seen but so far, the Road Map has been on point!

Regardless, its good to get some convo going on Emerald and what is just around the corner for Tmo. It is starting to get exciting again!!! - The bottom line is that we've wanted new Android phones from Tmo and we're going to get them...in droves! (2- HTC; 3 - Motorola; 1 - LG) - all between now and Christmas!!!:D

Not to sure about the policy of posting threads, but this was posted 4 weeks ago...

But still everything you posted is true. The phone with the keyboard which is the supposed vision is coming this fall, but Emerald is coming in November. So, by looking at the roadmap, the only phone coming out in September is the Vangaurd, and Emerald is still coming out in November which must mean the keyboard phone is indeed the Vangaurd.

Whenever the first HTC dual core proccesor phone with no UI overlay I am selling my Vibrant and buying the phone off contract!

As the post states, it is a remix so that we could revive conversation in this thread which is about Emerald and Vision.

Things change so rapidly in the world of cell phones. I don't know *why* the names of projects are changed so often. It makes it difficult to keep track - Bravo/Passion/Desire/Vision/Vanguard. But the Roadmap is important to keep in the conversation so that we see the the timeline with reference to drop dates (and the actual names of the phones we'll be getting).

The news of the upcoming Emerald Project is HUGE. It changes everything for me, at least LOL. I wanted to join a Tmo thread about Emerald and saw that this one had died. Hopefully, we can start chatting about it more as we get closer to launch date. Believe it or not, some people don't even know that there *is* an Emerald Project.

Our community consists not only of developers and well read enthusiasts, but also of researching newbies who are here to learn about the world of Android. I thought it would be great to have an explanatory thread about the upcoming (and exciting) Emerald Project. I saw this thread and joined in, instead of starting a new one.

I'm telling you, if the Emerald is anything like what I have read, it is the only phone that I am interested in. I want to know all that I can get my hands on about it. And I will wait for it, :p.

This is why I am treating my Vibrant like a baby. As soon as Project Emerald releases, Im selling my baby in a Walmart parking lot for 25$!

I really hope Project Emerald lives up to the hype.

ROTFLOL, you are too funny Nick!!! But seriously, Dual processors *and* a 4.3 screen and all those mega pixels to take pictures of *other* people's babies! I am *so* not buying another phone till this one drops in November. I'm calling it the Superbeast. How much do you think it will come in costing?

P.S. The other side of it is, that HTC knows how to make a sexy phone. So, if it comes packin' heavy hardware *and* lookin' like new money, you won't be able to tell me *nothin'* - Lay that puppy on the table in the next board meeting!!! Sweeeeeeeeeeeet!!! ROTFLOL...

I'm betting 250 more or less on contract and 550 more or less off contract. And you are right about htc making good feeling phones, only thing I don't like on the vibrant is the light feeling. I'm also afraid that this and other phones wont get Gingerbread due to having custom UIs
