Props to Verizon

Just wanted to give credit where credit is due. I was on my 2nd droid it was giving trouble, called tech support determined i needed another one, i wanted a droidX but he informed i was not close enough to my contract date i couldn't do that. I didn't put up a fuss cause i knew i was 6 months away from contract. Got my replacement in yesterday and to my surprise it was a Droid 2. So far I'm loving every thing about this phone. Looks like I don't need to spend the money on X after all.

Same here. Screen shit the bed so I called Verizon and after going through the whole try this, do that routine the tech said he would send a referb droid 1. Opened the package yesterday and there was a new droid 2 box with a letter stating sorry for inconvenience we are out of droid 1, here is a droid 2. Best part is it came with a new battery and sd card so now I have backups.

Same thing happened for my roomate. Her Blackberry Tour 9630 went on the fritz so she called tech support and low and behold the next day, a new Bold 9650 was in the box with the same letter stating they were out of Tour's. Pretty cool if you ask me! Definite props to Verizon for this!

I've dealt with Verizon and AT&T both customer service for our phones at work. Without a doubt, Verizon is #1. We are switching back to Verizon this week for all of our cell phones, Droids and Blackberry's. Bye bye AT&T....won't miss you at all !

Just a word of caution, they are most likely expecting your old battery and sd card back (or at least one of the batteries and one of the cards, doesn't have to be the old one). Otherwise they may charge you for keeping the extras. Usually when they send out a different phone, they want all the original corresponding parts back that they've replaced.
