I posted this over at XDA, but figured I would share it here as well:

Basically, band 4 is now "primary" so if you're in an area where you're on band 4 and move into an area where band 4 gets weak or it loses it, it will disconnect briefly to move over to band 13. Not sure why it does this or if a future radio update will "fix" this (I use quotes because I'm not sure they would consider it "broken").
This is the kind of thing we probably will have to live with, since Verizon isn't even acknowledging they will even sell the Nexus 6 yet.
