PSX4Droid not working...

As per title, I am using HTC Sensation. I'm noob in phone stuffs, but I've done quite a lot of research... really gave up and I hope someone could help me here.

I have PSX4Droid installed, tested with 2 different BIOS: psxbios.bin and scph1001.bin. But apparently all ROMs I tried won't run.
This is EXACTLY what happened:
I select a ROM, after about 5-10 secs, the screen will go black for 1 sec, then it'll instantly be back to the screen to select a ROM.
The ROMs are in the right format: .bin
Some are initially .bin.ecm which I've converted to .bin using unecm.exe

So what is still going on? I've read some things about rooting your phone... but yet I've also read that unrooted phone can still play as well... I'm sure the latter is correct, as if rooting is really compulsory, it'll be covered all over the internet as a step in using psx4droid.

Any help will be deeply appreciated!
 
It doesn't work on Gingerbread if unrooted as far as I know. I was happily making my way through FFVII then update and *poof* no longer works. I presume there could be custom ROMs to get round this but I wouldn't know.

I've just tried FPse, all roms are working =) However I find customisation very limited. It would be my final approach if psx4droid just don't work.

Hmm I guess I need more confirmations then... so the problem doesn't lie with Sensation, but with Gingerbread huh? If someone could confirm that rooting it will work (or AT LEAST, it's the case for them), I'll definitely have it rooted.

Root shouldn't matter for psx4droid but why not anyways ;) most people / users especially the ones who tested are rooted on custom roms and kernels. Some phones have a problem with the way dalvik is handled and most custom kernel fix that.

Also try compressing the .bin with pocketiso from fpsece's site. Its compatible with both fpse and psx4droid . Games run better , better compatibility, and smaller file size!!
