Push email for the EVO?

I would like to uncheck background data and Auto-sync, but yet I would still like to receive emails as they arrive. I know that I will get text messages and phone calls, but I need the email as well.

Is there an app for this?

(I am looking to save battery life and not have to go to usethe 3500 battery I had for the Hero.)
