Putting controls on headphones

I use a Note.

I have a Bose QC2, these don't have controls. Would I be able to buy a minijack extension cord with the controls? These don't seem to be very popular, surprisingly, I haven't found anything on the internet at least. Since such a cord would work for all ear/headphones, and as the world is becoming Androidised, would it not be a good idea to make? Or am I missing something?

At the moment it takes me about 3-7 seconds to pause something, it's so annoying. Not to mention that when winter comes (-30C) I don't want to have to go into my phone with my the stylus, which is impossible to take out while wearing a thick glove, which will not leave my hand as long as I'm outdoors.

Also I've been looking for a noise cancelling earphones, none of which have controls either! These earphones are for the noisy gym.

Also my stock Samsung right earphone is broken, but the controls still work (so I'm guessing that the problem is in the earphones it self). I'm thinking about taking it apart, cutting the cord above the controls and inserting a female minijack terminal, does anyone have any good tips or websites for a tutorial? I have enough patience for small fiddly bits and I'm willing to learn. Although this is a last resort.

I found this post while searching for the same information - wondering if anyone makes a set of headphones (preferably a good set!) with controls. Seems like most manufacturers only do for iPhone. That said, some of the function of those iPhone controls work - mostly just pause/play and answer/end a call. At least that is the case with my Bose QC15's and the Bose Mi IEM's.

I'd a set of Phillips SHE8805 designed specifically for Android. Sound quality was pretty good and the headset control worked flawlessly. They broke unfortunately

I'm currently using a set of Denon AH-C560R with a remote they were designed for the iPhone, but with the Jays Headset Control app, I've got as much control with the one button as I did with the previous earphones.

I agree though, with Android as popular as it is now, you'd expect a wider range of decent, working earphones.
