I have a OnePlus 3. Some weeks ago I started getting one popup ad first thing every morning. It happens even if I reboot right before going to bed and don't open anything.
In the process of trying to figure this out I noticed something that I'm curious about. If I look in my recent apps list right after closing the ad, I see "Internet"; next time I go into the recent apps it is no longer there. I have no app on my device called "Internet", so I went looking for the associated icon and found it belongs to the Samsung Internet Browser (image attached). I also found that the Samsung Internet app could be installed on my phone - but it isn't.
Since I installed a lot of new apps around when this started, I'm resigned to having to slog through them trying to identify which is doing it. But meanwhile I'm wondering if anyone can explain what might be going on with this Internet app.
