[Q] Android Contact Sync?

submeyar

Newbie
I searched before asking it, and didn't find any Post relating my question.

Android OS : 4.1.2

I am taking backup of my Phone contacts using default option.
and i want to know that does contact detail info like "email, notes, labels"
also backup or just contact name and number?

I usually add some info to my contacts forexample;

John
Mobile: #
Work: #
Email: @
Notes: info about contact.

So i want to know that all these Labels (mobile, work) and emails will restore as it is?

It should as long as you created your contacts as a "google" contact as opposed to a "phone" contact.

I have a 4.1.2 tablet. I save and back up all my contacts via google. All of the various info is saved. I have wiped and restored my tablet and android phones a few times and the contacts were always restored from google. From google, i import my contacts to yahoo because i prefer using a yahoo email account. I can also create a csv or vcf file in google to export the info to a pc or email client like live mail or outlook. All of the info is there but sometimes i have to move the columns of the csv info to make get the info in the correct spots in live mail.

Thanks for reply, but i am saving backup to SD and also Uploading to Dropbox as backup, i never used google backup. Are you sure saving to SD is not risky?
I am worry about Columns like "Notes, Emails, labels" etc.

Depends on what you use to Backup. I always save to Google so I never worry about all the contact contents. Even the contact pictures are backed up if yoy use Google.

I'd say to either backup using Google or a PC suite software if you want a proper complete backup.
