Is there a particular reason why you think having root and anti-virus wouldn't be ok?
If you tell us the phone and carrier you are using we can move your question to where other people who use your phone visit. They are the best source of information for you.
As you well know, a root-ed phone is a different environment form the same un-root-ed phone. One of the people in that forum probably has experience with whatever app you are concerned about on your root-ed phone.

I've been using two Android devices with Kaspersky on them for nearly a year now, a tablet and phone. I've used TiBa to move the subscription from phone-to-phone, tab-to-tab, and ROM-to-ROM and its worked fine.
