Help [Q] Configuring Samsung Smart TV to recognize LG G2

Lurker
Hi,
I bought a new tv set' Samsung Smart TV. The unit has a capability to connect to a Samsung smartphone.
Is there a way to "smuggle" an LG G2 to this niche?

Welcome to the forums, Chermesh!
Are you looking to simply use the IR blaster as a remote or are their smart function from the S5 you're trying to use?

There's an IR blaster on both phones. On the G2 it's the little dot on the top edge of the phone. You can use the Smart Remote app to configure it for your tv.
I've only used it for basic things on our LG tv like changing the channel or volume, I'm not sure if there's more capabilities for it. There's a chance Samsung offers more for their phones/tvs but I'm not sure (nor if they can be ported to an LG phone).

Yeah, this may be late....

I have a Samsung SmartTV, which I can control with the "Smart Remote". However, with the program iMediaShare from the Playstore, I can wirelessly cast content to the TV from the phone.

If that's what you're asking about, it works. Miracast and Chromecast are not needed.

Regards.
