Help [Q] does the battery drain faster in 2.3.3 than in 2.1 or 2.2.1

hi,
guys who have updated to 2.3.3 i want to ask you a question,i heard that after updating to 2.3.3 the battery backup becomes very low .did any of you experience this wats your battery backup duration now in 2.3.3:)

In my experience (stock 2.3.3, 3 mobile, UK) Gingerbread uses much less battery on idle with WiFi on. With 2.2.1 the battery discharged in a day, now it is 4 days.

Hey dude,

Running 2.3.3 now myself and have found battery life to be hugely improved.

I work most days were i have my phone on standby in my pocket. The phone is used slightly before i go to work (quick internet check of bank accounts, work rota etc) for about 5-10 mins... the same on my dinner break plus one or two 3-5 minute calls. In total by the time i finish work the phone has usually been on for around 10 hours with minor use. At the end of each day my phone used to average 75% battery life left. Its now 80%. Doesnt sound much but that is a 20%, or one fifth, improvement. I also noticed that when using WiFi on 2.2.1 my phones battery would plummet. WiFi still noticably uses more battery than 3g on 2.3.3 but the battery doesn't take quite as much of a hit by activating it.

In my opinion, people who complain of poor battery life after the update have simply not updated properly (no factory reset before/after update). I have updated both mine and my mates GalaxyS to 2.3.3, factory resetting before and after on both, and both phones are running perfectly. And if you take screen captures of ur homescreens, write down all your apps, and let your google account backup all your contacts etc, getting your phone back to the way it was after the reset is a piece of cake.

Finally I'd like to add that as a fellow GalaxyS forum buddy my reccomendation is that if your thinking of upgrading to 2.3.3 then you need to stop thinking and just do it! I can guarantee that if you factory reset before and after you will be more than happy with every single aspect of your phones performance after the update ;).

ive tried every version of 2.3.3. i did a factory reset before and after, but the battery drained really quick. im now on 2.3.4 and ive had no problems.

so wat do you think that i can do ,do you recommend me to update to 2.3.3 or just be in my 2.1. wa about 2.2.1 is good

Personally I found 2.2.1 to be fine and battery life was a couple of days.

On my phone GB seems nippier and I'm happy with the update.

Not sure everyone will echop that sentiment though.

2.1 and 2.2 Have some issues with battery drains from time to time. The CPU seems to be draining the most of this battery and the display. I've checked the Gingerbread version and it seems this issue has been fixed but still, imagine the fact that after all, a smartphone always will use a lot of power to ensure the best of your phone.
