[Q] LauncherPro+ FC with custom icon

xenotype

Newbie
Droid X with Liberty 1.5 Rom

I have tried everything and cannot seem to figure out the issue. I am simply trying to change the Dock icons to some custom ones I put on my SD card. Everytime I go into the gallery and select the icon I want, I get this message:

The application LauncherPro (process android.process.acore) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

I have searched this error message and cannot seem to find the same scenario I am having.

At first it was happening when trying to change dock background. I was getting frustrated so I uninstalled LPplus then reinstalled, same issue. Cleared app cache, still no luck. Finally went into recovery - wiped data/cache and reinstalled the ROM. After getting all my apps back, I started to set my homescreen up. I can now change dock backgrounds, but I cannot change the dock Icons.

I am about ready to pitch the phone out the window, I cant seem to figure it out and I dont want to have to keep setting the phone up over and over for something that should be so simple as changing a damn icon.

The only suggestion I have would be to try it with a different rom to see if that is what is causing it. You could also try redownloading the rom you are using and delete the current copy of it you have saved.

the thing is, is that it only started happening when i put my icon collection on on my SD card. I was able to change them fine before

Seems that Launcher Pro doesn't like apps on the external card. I was over at the Cognition forums at Team Whiskey and we found a way to fix it.

I used App 2 sd and moved all apps that were on my ext sd to the phone. Problem fixed! no more FC on LP. We have a message to the Laucher Pro folks at the forum and hopefully this bug will get fixed. I only had to move about 4 apps back to the phone and still have tons of room.

Let me know if this fixes it for you. After 2 weeks of LP crashing on bootup I haven't had it do it since.

In closing. all my wallpapers, Icon sets and even Dropbox sync folders are still on Ext Sd no issues.
