QQ- Regarding Samsung Galaxy Note 2

So I have recently come across a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. I got it for free with out a battery or back cover. I bought a new battery and a back cover.

So the phone's screen is severely cracked, I'm also assuming the LCD is cracked as well. The phone I'm sure is charging, the blue light on the top left corner is blinking also the I don't know what to call it button on the bottom left corner lights up as well.

The screen how ever doesn't turn on. Now my question.

Is it worth paying someone to repair the broken screen and LCD or am I better off buying just a whole new phone to begin with. The repairs, from what I've been looking up will cost me anywhere from $250 - $325.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Well the problem is we don't know the condition of the insides of the phone, so that's a $250 gamble. But then again, that's basically getting a $500 phone for whatever the battery+back+screen is worth, which should be around half the price. So, it's sort of a gamble but I'd go through with it.

I appreciate that. I got the battery and back cover for $20 off of amazon. I mean the lights are blinking, if that's any consolation. Its been charging but it wont turn on.

The LED blinks for various reasons, like an unread notification. The menu button on the lower left lights up with the screen when it's supposed to light up. What I suggest is take it to a shop that can test what is broken inside.
