Quad Core S3 on the way?

That's only for Korean market. It would probably work with some European carriers if frequency bands are compatible. But the LTE radio in it won't work with any US carrier. Qualcomm is pretty much monopoly now when it comes to LTE radio for US carriers, especially the integrated SoC one like S4.

Never say never. I just don't want to feel like all the RAZR owners did & still do, buy a phone & not to much time down the road the company releases the same exact phone but better ( RAZR MAXX ). I know technology is always changing, but to come out w/ the better version of the same phone just months after release is just down right cold.

LTE drains lot of battery and qualcomm combined both 3G+4G in 1 chip, also they put it in SoC so it drains alot less power than using AP+2 seperate chips. thats only reason why they're using qualcomm chip.
there're are LTE phones that doesnt use qualcomm chips. (Like galalxy nexus, droid razr)

about S3 korean version, it wont work in US. they use CMDA for voice call and LTE for 4G, only verizon is like that and they use diifferent frequency.

The Korean version (which is CDMA) wouldn't work for Sprint's LTE network, either, in case anyone is curious. Sprint is using different frequencies, as well.

I wouldn't be surprised by a Samsung Galaxy S III Skyrocket model with quad- core & LTE coming to the US & Europe in a few months. Most likely around the same time the iPhone 5 launches.
