Question about charging

I have a friend who has the razr. I recently got the razr maxx. He told me to make sure i never charge my phone when it is attached to my computer by USB (charge only) because it will mess up my battery. Is this true?

I've never heard that one and do it (on occasion) with my razr.

That didn't sound right so I wanted to post it on here and see if anyone else had heard that or had any experience with it. thanks for the response!

Never heard that it would mess anything up. If you were actively using the Maxx while hooked up to the USB on a PC I wouldn't expect it to keep up with charging though. Just in my experience charging via USB on a PC is very slow so if using the phone much it doesn't keep up.
