Question about early upgrade

So Verizon has been kind enough to offer me an early upgrade. The catch is, they cannot offer the Note II but can offer the S3. If I were to get the S3, is there anything that would prevent me from taking it to a local store within 14 days and trade it for the Note 2? Thanks

Generally, you have to return the phone through the channel that you purchased it. That means that you cannot take a phone purchased online, or through telesales, to a store for an exchange.

Even if you could do it, the early upgrade limitation is probably noted on your account.

Well you said they'll only upgrade you with the S3, so I doubt you could just exchange it. Otherwise they'd just let you upgrade with the note 2 to begin with.

I've exchanged phones that I got online at a Verizon store without any problems. I'm almost certain you have to return a phone the way you got it, but you can exchange a phone for another in a store regardless where you got it.
