Question about expandable memory.

Is the 32gb memory cap a hardware limitation or a software one. If it's a software one, do any of the custom roms raise the cap?

SDHC cards have a size limit of 32GB I think. There's a new format SDXC or something that has a limit that is much higher but as far as I know, none of the phones support it.

*Edit: I think some samsung phones support them.

ive never seen any phone specs that say support higher than 32
i think 32 came out before or about the same time as ics.. so gingerbread wasnt built to support it... but it works... im not 100% sure...

but a friend has been using a 64 in his mytouch 4g and htc amaze with no problems. gb ics and jb
