Apps Question About Modifying ROM

-Don

Newbie
I currently have the eris_0_3 rooted ROM installed on the phone and I've been trying to change the default avatar (green android) picture for incoming/outgoing calls to a blank .png picture...

So I thought I located the picture and erased it w/GIMP leaving it blank & the file name unchanged, resigned the ROM package and successfully re-flashed it but for some reason it's still showing up as the default avatar for calls.

Not sure if I changed the correct image or if I need to modify the XML or Md5 checksum file associated with it...but I thought resigning it would re-create the checksum file and the XML just references the location???
(I'm thinking that I changed the wrong image file)

The path to the png image that I changed is below:

/eris_0_3/system/framework/com.htc.resources.apk/res/drawable-mdpi/android_icon.png

(I've also tried to replace the png image through the adb shell but I got errors)

Please excuse my n00bishness, I'm not a developer or a programmer

Link to images(same as above):
/eris_0_3/system/framework/co...

Any help would be greatly appreciated ...
