Question about NBA game time app and multi screen?

Can you watch games in the app and use multi screen like you can do in videos? So for example send a text while watching a game? Same thing when you are on YouTube for example? Or is it just with videos you download?
 
Unless you root your phone, most apps won't be compatible with multiscreen.
However I believe if you are within this app you're talking about, then drag messaging to half the screen it should work.
