Question about new Google Play Movie app

BKS22

Hello all,

I have a question regarding the Google Play Movies app. I see in their video they say you can watch the movie on your laptop and then "take it with you" and continue it on your phone. They also mention you can do this "offline" ???

The reason for my question is I will be moving to Thailand in a couple months and I would like to have access to a few movies to kill time at the airport between flights and when I am on some long bus rides when I arrive.
Will I need to have internet access to watch these movies on my phone? Or am I required to download it to my sd card?
I was under the impression that the whole point of this app is that you do not have to download movies or music and can have access to them whenever you want. Correct?

My issue is if I need internet access it will be spotty at best in many areas of Thailand. They only have 3G available in the larger cities and I am sure Edge coverage is predominant in most of the country :(

Any help & suggestions are appreciated.

Cheers,

Brian (SGS2 Skyrocket)

Please note that once you start a movie you have 24 hours to complete the viewing.

When I fly I download the movies to the device and watch them, since I wont have an internet connection. I think it downloads the movies into memory, because after the 24 hour rental period, the movies are completely removed form the device.

I usually watch 1 or 2 movies for most flights. Transcon I can watch 2 or 3.

If you just want to watch the movies on your desktop, device or tablet, then leave them "streaming" and you can watch wherever within the 24 hour rental period.

Based on what you've written above, I suggest downloading all the movies you want to watch prior to your trip to your device. Then when in flight, start watching.

See! This is why I love this forum! I had no clue as to this 24hr rule regarding the view time on the movies. Nor have I seen where Google has openly disclosed this info.

Thank you KENNECTED~! Can I ask if you ave a personal preference for a specific site to download movies OTHER then the Google Play Store???
