Question about setting up a new phone

Hope there is an Android expert out there that can help me with a question.
I want to buy a new phone (Moto E with KK 4.4.2) and set it up for someone else and then mail it to them.
I want to buy the phone, sign into it with my Google account, install free apps from Google Play Store over wifi, change Settings, etc etc, then remove my Google account. Then send the phone to the other person and have them sign in with their Google account which they already have.

When they sign in with their Google username, will all of the apps and settings disappear since the apps were installed under my Google account?

The free apps installed from your account shouldn't disappear, however details and settings specific to your account will. But if they ever factory reset the phone, any apps that were downloaded on your account won't be there for other person to restore.

I've actually done this anyway, setup a friend's new phone on my Google account, then created a new Google account for my friend on the phone itself, and the free apps I downloaded were still there.
