Help Question About Smooth Calendar

I am using Smooth Calendar to display Birthdays and Anniversaries on my home screen as a reminder and it does it very well except for one minor irritation.
I have birthday/anniversary saved for each contact and also added in S Planner. Smooth Calendar picks up and displays both.
Is there any way to stop this happening apart from the obvious option of removing the dates from either contacts or S Planner?

Unlocked/Unbranded/Unrooted International S3 on 4.1.1 if that makes any difference.

I use gemini calendar that has several widget type displays i can show on screen. These show a variety of entries depending on how many lines of calendar you wish to show. In settings it lists "my calendar", "google calendar" and "Samsung calendar". I believe you will have similar options in your calendar setting, ensure you only have one calendar selected to avoid duplication. I choose my google calendar and get no duplication, worth a try. I've managed to find a solution.
It seems contact events such as birthdays, are added to 'My Calendar' but they aren't visible in S Planner.
In trying various things last night, I loaded Business Calendar Free and that shows both entries for the same event.
I've been through deleting the events generated by the Contacts app and problem solved!
It just seems a bit odd that events added in Contacts generate an event in S Planner that isn't visible.
