Question about T-Mobile Data Cap Limit.

Hey guys, first off I apologize if this question doesn't belong in this thread, but I wasn't sure where else to put it.

I had a quick question regarding T-mobile's unlimited data plan cap limit. I have read some different sources online saying that there's a 10GB cap where the data speeds will throttle down to 2G after this limit is passed. Other sources have said that this cap was at 5GB.

I was wondering if any of you guys knew for sure which of these is true. If it helps at all, I signed up for my unlimited data plan back in April of 2010 with my Behold 2, and am now currently using a Mytouch Slide.

i dont know where abouts in the world you are. but in the uk, if you have an android phone on tmobile (contract), you automatically get a fup of 3gb

Hello Gary, welcome to Android Forums. Great to see you posting!

I've moved your T-Mobile query to that carrier's forum here at AF. I hope you get an answer quicker here.

Cheers. :)

There are two different data caps.

If you were to add a data plan to a monthly rate plan it's 10GB/mo of 3G before you get throttled.

Or, if you were to have a data only plan, ie Android phone with just data or a USB data stick, it is 5GB/mo of 3G before you get throttled. In regards to having a smartphone on a data only option, I am not 100% certain that it is a 5GB cap, it could fall under the 10GB; I'm only saying that to stay safe.
