Help me understand how the signal to my phone works. If I am in a. Very remote location with no towers dose the Gps have to use towers? Can I still be located by. Gps? Is the only way I can be located threw towers? Thanks Joe.
 
Hi Joe,

No , GPS uses satellites to pinpoint your location, as long as you got any sort of data connection your gps results can be sent back via the interent to locate you. Another way is to use the "use wireless networks" function as this will us the towers to triangulate where you are. Problem is , it's not very accurate at all
