Root Question for you developers out there

I know Huawei hasn't released anything to help us build anything from source, but since our phone is the Qualcomm MSM8960 plus, would source code from qualcomm itself work or at least help? I just stumbled across this page, and was wondering if it'll help or doesn't it really matter?
