Hey
I just heard that in the new android wear update there would be a feature that allow my swatch use wifi to connect my phone over the internet. It sounds pretty cool, but i worry about radiation, i know Bluetooth does no harm, but what's with wifi? Also does it mean it will drain my battery faster? I mean i don't mind my Moto 360s battery now, but i'm afraid that a bit less battery life would be a problem?

Please help

Thanks :)

Is wifi that attached to my arm can cause health trouble? (i understand t might be a question for other forums but if you know about it please help)
How much battery will it drain?

Do you ever carry your phone in your pocket while it's connected to Wifi? I don't see why wearing a wifi device on your wrist would be any more risky to your health - in fact, the risk would probably be lessened just because of the distance from vital organs. I haven't looked at the specs, but I would even wager that the wireless radio in the watch would transmit at a lower power than your phone.

As for battery life, I think we'll have to wait and see once folks start to get the update. There are a lot of unknown (to me, at least) variables that could influence battery life.

well its true
But it is strapped to my hand the whole day, unlike a phone which i only put on me for few hours.
I know that the galaxy s watch with the 3g option is just to dangerous, it got like 5x more radiation then recommended (considering the frequency/radiation power).
And i hope for the battery to last enough time. But i think it has to drain a lot of the battery :/ Bluetooth compared to WiFi is a real power-saver.

p.s thanks for the answer :)
Any more thoughts?

Yeah, but keep in mind that cellular radios transmit MUCH more power than Wifi or Bluetooth - the closest cell tower probably isn't as close as your Wifi AP, right? ;)

As for frequency, Wifi operates at the same 2.4GHz spectrum as Bluetooth, so the only real variable would be transmit power.
