Question on Android stb media player

Was perusing and found this:

it uses an ARM Cortex A9 processor. I was wondering, does anyone have experience with one of these? I like the remote, but I'm going ot mainly be using it to stream video from my server.

It's another Geniatech/Amlogic clone, there are tons of them. See the Geniatech thread for more info.

As a streaming network media player they really arent that great if thats' it's primary purpose. Were talking stock Android with no custom UI, this isn't like a WDTV Live which is a proper network media player. There is a built in app which maps network shares to local paths so you can play media, if your not that fussy and just want something basic then it will do.

A better option might be an actual 2nd gen GoogleTV with the GTVBox app as media player which has native network browsing, Vizo have just announced a $99 GoogleTV set top box.

Interesting. Why not just run gtvbox on one I'd these little clone units?
