question on encoding for IRC app "andchat"

Just wondering what encoding is best for an Android on verizon.

The default encoding for this and another IRC app I tried is UTF-8. The options are vast though.

Anyone know the "optimal" encoding for IRC? Specifically, if it's a factor irc.gamesurge.net

Hi, I'm the developer of AndChat :) UTF-8 will be fine for most people, but if you use a channel where people use non-english characters, you might need to change the encoding to see the text properly.
