question on Whatsapp-running

So My question is -when it is installed properly -We can Only send sms/text messages to other people that have the same Whatsapp installed on their phone ??? and be connected on the internet at the same time we are ???? is this correct ???

WhatsApp can only send to other WhatsApp users. That's true for all of these Internet messaging services (FB Messenger, Signal, Telegraph, WeChat, whatever). Some of these apps can be set to send SMS as well, but WhatsApp isn't one of those.

However the recipient does not have to be connected at the time for you to send. As with SMS if they are offline it will store the message and deliver when they connect (and I assume that like SMS there is some time limit, but I don't know what it is - it's never failed to deliver a message for me anyway).
