[QUESTION] Recoloring Icons

Hi all,

Lately I've been messing around with a whole bunch of CM9/AOKP/Gummy Theme Chooser themes. I have an icon pack that loosely matches each theme, and have created a Nova Backup with each setup so that when I apply a theme, I restore the corresponding backup and everything matches. However...what I'd really love to do is use the stock icons. Not all packs contain icons for all the apps I use, and I'd rather not compromise (i.e. using an RSS icon for Flipboard or a notebook icon for Instapaper). Also, not all packs match the color of the theme all that great. So my question to all the image editing Guru's out there (or anyone who got lucky and found a great utility), is there a way to batch edit all of your icons to sort of recolor them to a specific hex color? Meaning, if I have a set of icons I use, is there a way I can edit them all to be recolored to be, let's say, the hex color of ICS blue?

If it's a stupid and impossible question, please be kind; not too much image editing experience!

That's a good question.

If you can find a png for stock and bring it in to photoshop (if you have it) or pixlr.com, you might be able to isolate the layer and color it that way. I will play with this idea and get back to you.
