Root [Question] Xperia X10 Rooted but not unlocked

Swamin30

Lurker
Hi,

I live in India. Recently my friend, who came from U.S bought a AT&T Sony Xperia X10 mobile for me. It is rooted and upgraded to 2.3.3 in US itself by the seller. The kernel version is 2.6.29-00054-g5f01537 and the base band version is 2.1.7.1.

As soon as I got the phone from my friend, I inserted our SIM (Airtel India).
It asks for SIM network unlock PIN. When the seller in US was contacted, she said she unlocked and then only rooted & upgraded to 2.3.3. She also shared the unlock pin with us,but it doesn't unlock.

On reading through few threads, I came to know Bin4ry flash tool had solved similar problems to few guys.

But I am really struggling to complete the steps, as I could not get the generic file listed for India/US in the below link were missing. As files seems to be deleted or limited.

Any suggestions or help would be really helpful for me to proceed further.
Also let me know, whether it is possible to install cyanogenmod 7 using Bin4ry flash tool in my X10??

regards,
Swami

I used the Bin4ry flash tool and try flashing with X10a US specific generic file and even tried X10i India specific generic file.
Still the same issue persists. It is asking for Sim Network Unlock pin.
Any help in this regards will be really helpfull..

Thanks in advance for the help

No one turned up..
I believe everyone is busy.
Ok. No problem now, able to unlock the phone using another pin from the seller.
Thank you everyone for your time.
