Apps Questions for this section

I'm new to android but finished 2 courses - 1 for games; 1 for work. I wish to ask for help in writing android apps. I was in the thread section of this website and was told it's the wrong section. Is this the right place to ask? Bear in mind that I might need actual codes and actual working examples to understand what I'm doing. Let me know if there are other websites. Thanks.

OK thank you. So do i put my question here or create a new topic? Do I insert my actual codes or just explain what I want? And I hope no one will suspend my account if my question happens to be out of topic by any mistake.
 
It would probably be best to create a new topic specific to your question(s). Be sure to put a descriptive title, and you can wrap your code snippets with [code]...[/code] tags to make it easier to read.

I will admit that I'm not a developer so I probably won't be able to help, but I'm sure that some of our resident developers will be happy to assist. (And don't worry about your account status - we're thrilled to have you here!)

Thank you. I think that's a better question. So can you help over there? If you can, give me the codes. I'll be really happy. So next time, I just click on the left of "my threads" to insert a question? Looks like clicking in apps/games isn't the right thing.
 
As I mentioned earlier, I'm not a developer so I won't be able to actually answer your question.

If you click on the little star icon at the top of https://androidforums.com/forums/android-development.28/ then the subforum will be added to your Favorites list, which appears below the My Threads section on the left. That will make it easier to view other development questions or to post more of your own.
