questions while I wait for my Chromecast to arrive...

Waiting for my Chromecast to be shipped, and I have some questions:
- once I buy an episode of some TV show, can I watch it anytime later, or just that once?
- I've installed the Chromecast app on my Android phone, and have been peeking into it. The button for "get free episodes" has yet to lead me to any free episodes. What am I missing?

Thanks!

if you buy an episode from Google Play TV and Movies, then it's your's forever. (or digital forever). and you can watch it anytime.

just be sure you're buying it, and not renting it. Google will default to renting as it's cheaper and makes impulse buying that much higher.

as for the "get free episodes" i didn't notice that on my Chromecast app, i'll have to check that later on.

So if Google defaults to renting (smart business play) and I do not want to rent, do I need to change some setting somewhere or is it just two different buttons? All the episodes I see of The Walking Dead (which was the 1st one on the list) only have 1 button that says "1.99". There's no indicator if that's rent or buy, and I don't see this in a quick scan through settings...

When I open the Google Play movies & TV app, I see:
"Get started
Find a great movie or TV show in the Play store, then kick back and enjoy with the Play Movies& TV app.
[Shop Movies]
[Get free episodes]"

Yet clicking [Get free episodes] takes me to Google Play TV's main screen of titles. Clicking any of those ... OH I JUST FOUND OUT WHAT'S UP! The first few pages of episodes are $1.99 each, which is why I was like "WHAT free episodes?" BUT I just scrolled to the end of the list of episodes for the first time, and the last four are free. Aha! OK, <Emily Litella voice> never mind...

the best way to know if you're buying or renting videos, is to use the website, and not the app.

when i looked up Walking Dead Season 1 Episode 1, i was shown to buy SD for $1.99, or buy HD for $2.99.

but say i look up Django Unchained. it first just displays $4.99. but then when you click into the movie, it says rent SD $4.99, rent HD $5.99, buy SD $12.99, buy HD $14.99
