Root Questions

Could you please answer some of my questions?
Now i want to root my phone, but it is said to invalidate the warranty. Can i update it to its original version later? Will the rooting process erase everything stored in the phone too? Should i copy my data?
There is no Android Market in Turkey, as you may know, i want to use the Market. 2-3 days ago CuBz said that that i have to debrand it as well. Is debranding and rooting are the same thing? I want to do that for utilizing Android Market, as I have stated earlier.
There will be no offical support for newer Android versions for X10. With the rooting, will i be able to update the OS to custom 2.2 or 2.3? (And they say, we have to wait a looong time for custom 2.3, is that true?)

Thanks for answering my questions.

xRecovery allows you to say your phone as it is into a rom, before flashing a custom rom in its place. So, its fairly easy to go back to the way things were. I have no idea if rooting will kill your warranty, but you can't flash custom roms w/o rooting.

I'm currently using a custom 2.2 rom (free x10), the phone is really one of the best android phones around when on froyo (keep in mind it only gained alot of functionality in the past month). 2.3 is a work in progress [ROM]HTC Sense 00001 / Google Android 2.3.1 GINGERBREAD - xda-developers check here for how much progress has been made on it.

Legally...you root or debrand or flash the phone it messes the warranty.

But what I did was root the phone...install xRecovery....and then created an image of my Rogers cell phone (with all the local cellular crap on it) and then I installed a different, better, quicker image and I use it.

If I ever want to go back, I can restore my original Rogers Cellular setup. So if I ever have to bring the phone in for repairs or whatnot, I could always do a quick restore....simply by turning off the phone....turn it on and select the image to restore....1 minute later...all done.
